Sanitary Sewer
Sanitary sewer is separate from stormwater (rain). Sanitary sewer collects water from sinks, showers, toilets, etc.

Thiensville is one of 28 satellite communities that are served by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD). All sanitary sewer is eventually sent to a treatment plant. For more information, visit the MMSD website.

The Public Works Department maintains the Village Sewer System. If your sanitary sewer starts backing up into your basement, notify the Village immediately. Police dispatchers will answer the phones 24 hours a day and gather information while dispatching public works employees to determine the location of the problem. Please call 1-262-242-2100.
