Santa at Tree Lighting

Thiensville tree lighting and holiday market to
take place Friday, Dec. 6

The Thiensville Business Association presents the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Market on Friday, Dec. 6.

The event will take place in the Walgreen's parking lot at the corner of Main Street and Freistadt Road from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The family event includes singing carols, a performance by the Homestead High School Choir and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus on a Thiensville fire truck.

Another highlight -- the holiday market -- will be back this year.

There will be free cookies and hot chocolate.

Join the
Thiensville Fire Department for Breakfast with Santa

Enjoy Breakfast with Santa at the the Thiensville Fire Department from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Dec. 8.

Families attending the breakfast are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the Holiday Toy Drive. Firefighters will deliver the toys to Kapco's Kids2Kids Christmas Toy Drive.

The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage and a drink. The cost is $7 per person. The cost is $5 for kids ages 6 to 10. Credit and debit cards are accepted.

Santa will be available for photos. All proceeds will go to Thiensville Fire Department Inc. New this year -- all photos will be digital and emailed directly to the family.

Police Department to host
Coffee with Thiensville Cops
on Monday, December 9

The Thiensville Police Department invites the community to Coffee With Thiensville Cops from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9.

The free event will take place at Village Hall, 250 Elm St.

"We are excited to meet and greet everyone," said Police Chief Curt Kleppin.

Coffee will be provided by Fiddleheads. Hot cocoa and cookies also will be available.

Thiensville PD collecting toys
for Kids2Kids Christmas

Thiensville Police Department officers are collecting toys again this holiday season for Kids2Kids Christmas.

Please help by donating a new unwrapped toy at the Thiensville Police Department, 250 Elm St. Toys may be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, through Dec. 13.

Toys collected with be delivered to the Kids2Kids Toy Drive, which is sponsored by Kapco Inc. and 620 WTMJ. Details on the toy drive are at

MTHS 2020 Calendar Cover

Mequon-Thiensville Historical Society 2020 calendar available

The Mequon-Thiensville Historical Society's 2020 picture calendar is now available. The calendar features of variety of historic photos from the communities.

The calendar is available at Thiensville Village Hall, the Port Washington State Bank branches in Thiensville and Mequon and Chuck's Place, 406 N. Main St.

The cost of the calendar is $5. It is included with an annual membership to MTHS, which begins at $15. 


M-T School District seeks input
on school facility needs

Help the Mequon-Thiensville School District plan for the future. Thiensville and Mequon residents are asked to take a survey to review the school district's facility needs, consider possible solutions and provide input and feedback.

The survey follows the recent work of school district leadership and an independent community task force to evaluate the district's facility needs and identify priorities for the community's consideration.

The anonymous survey is available online until this Wednesday, Dec. 4. The estimated time to complete the survey is 15 minutes. Paper copies are available in the Mequon-Thiensville School District office, 5000 W. Mequon Road in Mequon.
